Kelly Engineering Resources is searching for a **Senior Mechanical Design Engineer** on behalf of our client a manufacturer of material handling equipment. Our customer offers growth opportunities within the team and with other departments, as well as a full benefits package including medical, dental, PTO, and 401K.

In this role, your primary focus will be to research, develop, design, test & troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems for material handling equipment. You will apply engineering principles and techniques to new product designs.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Complete equipment design -front end design, start to finish

+ Mechanical systems

+ Hydraulic systems -up to 3500 psi

+ Hydraulic pumps

+ Electro-hydrualics

+ Electromechanical interfaces

+ Provide documentation including part number creation

+ Creo drawings (piece part, sub-assembly & assemblies),

+ Kitbooks, BOMs, assembly instructions (routings) using ERP systems.

+ Component sourcing/purchasing

+ Lead design efforts on projects

+ Develop & manage own timelines

+ Work with project managers

+ Lead test engineering & prototype development

+ Mentor & guide less experienced engineers

+ Design checking

+ Design review

+ Provide project & design support to others on the team.

**Qualifications of the Successful Sr. Mechanical Engineer**

+ Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering

+ 7+ years equipment product development experience including:

+ Complete equipment/machine design & development, required

+ Hydraulic systems design, required

+ Hands on prototype build/test, required

+ Use basic hand tools required

+ Use basic electrical hand tools a plus (multimeters, crimpers, soldering)

+ Working knowledge of ASTM, SAE, CEN and UL standards- a plus

+ Working knowledge of ITA and ITSDF Recommended Practices- a plus

+ EIT, PE a plus

+ Proficient with Creo preferred but will train if proficient with NX, Catia or Solidworks.

+ Proficient with any ERP systems, BPCS preferred

+ Work habits: independent thinker & do-er, record of successfully managing own projects and meeting deadlines, mentoring philosophy, team & goal oriented

+ Excellent verbal, written and listening skills.
