Come be a part of the team and enjoy great benefits and opportunities to grow while performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks to maintain the small engine equipment for the Parks and Forestry Division. Daily responsibilities include: performing preventative maintenance and repairs for small engines, diagnosing and repairing electrical issues, conducting periodic inspections for safety and environmental compliance, ordering materials, and coordinating deliveries to the Parks and Recreation Headquarters facility. Assists in emergency operations, including snow removal.

Starting Pay: $19.82/hr. - $24.77/hr.
Normal Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - As determined by supervisor to cover 7 day operation.
No City residency requirement

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical training in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel powered small equipment, welding and hydraulics, small engine repair or additional equivalent experience.
6 months to 1 year of experience performing small engine maintenance and repair, or an equivalent level of experience.
Must have a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record
Must obtain a valid Class A commercial driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements within six months after employment.
Possession of Kansas Commercial Applicator Certification, with 3A and 3B endorsements, or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam.
