The Opportunity: Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Short-Range Planning Engineer to join our team at the Hemlo Operations.

Working a rotation of 14-shifts on / 14-shifts off

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while supporting daily underground mining operations through short-range planning. This position is a great opportunity to get operations experience while playing a vital role in optimizing the mine s day-to-day activities.

More specifically, our Short-Range Planning Engineer will:

Be responsible for the Short-Range Planning of the underground mining operation
Liaise with various mine departments to gather planning input in coordination with targets
Present weekly underground mine plan to all departments and management
Monitor plan execution and conduct regular underground tours
Optimize Production and Development processes to continuously meet and exceed contractual metric requirements
Use analysis and implementation of cost reduction initiatives
Comply with all HS&E Policies, Procedures and Instructions along with relevant Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations

Skills and Experience:

Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering
Underground Mining experience is considered an asset
Experience planning/scheduling is a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively with operations foremen, technical services, management, and all other key stakeholders
Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams Strong analytical skills with strong organizational, time management and communication abilities
Knowledge of Deswik is considered an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team and independently
Valid Driver's license
Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
