American Ecotech designs, manufactures and markets solution for ambient air monitoring. Our products are used to help environmental professionals to assess the actual air quality, allowing warnings for the public or influence processes to improve their environmental impact. AMERICAN ECOTECH products and systems can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, schools, railway stations, sea ports, government and military installations and dedicated monitoring stations or mobile platforms.
AMERICAN ECOTECH is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with experience in R&D and Solidworks. Project Management Experience preferred. Experience in design and development of gas monitoring systems in mix-flow gas systems and test chambers is a plus. Work will be performed at our Warren, Rhode Island location.
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
The ability to assess complex issues and develop appropriate solutions.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently and with a group.
Ability to collect, interpret and document data.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office and SolidWorks.
Basic knowledge of mechanical design and machining is also required.
Familiar with appropriate data communication protocols desirable
Reviewing technical requirements and objectives;
Devising and evaluating concepts for design approaches;
Experimenting, investigating, and testing to produce new data, or methods to test concepts,
Formulate design criteria;
Mechanical aptitude, advanced troubleshooting skills and a knowledge base that includes the scientific principles of air measurement, pneumatics, electrical and electronics, computing and network skills
Define and test mechanical components for environmental monitoring Instruments
Test of instruments and components in the Lab and in field tests
Create datasheets and technical documentation
Liaise with vendors to achieve maximum design results.
Domestic travel is required up to 20%.
