Summary: Assists with the installation of plumbing pipe, valves, fittings and fixtures in buildings contracted with the company. Works in a variety of construction areas under constant direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Assists to install, connect and test complete water and sanitary piping systems.
+ Mobilize material as directed.
+ Maintains required paperwork.
+ Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must supply all tools to complete the tasks assigned.
+ Must provide own transportation to and from the jobsite as required for the work shift.
+ May be required to work unusual hours, holidays, and weekends.
+ Must constantly protect the interests of the company and promote its success.
+ Be willing to learn the principles, methods, tools, and equipment used in the trade.
+ Must be able to follow directions and instructions.
+ Must become knowledgeable and have the ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
+ Make penetrations in floors, walls and roofs as needed for piping installation as directed.
+ Being comfortable working in confined spaces and places at great heights.
+ Learn to install piping straight, level, plumb, and cleanly, to code in a professional workmanship manner.
+ Test and verify plumbing as directed.
+ Able to follow oral and or written directions.
+ Able to instruct and train unskilled workers in a safe manner.
+ Learn to become knowledgeable of local plumbing codes.
+ Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, including a culturally diverse general public, with a focus on quality service to all.
Education/Training/Experience:
+ Must become familiar and comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
+ Ability to calculate basic math problems.
+ Able to read and understand a tape measure and learn to read prints.
Physical Capabilities:
+ Be able to continuously bend, stretch, kneel and climb as necessary.
+ Must also be able to lift at least 50 pounds of material on a continuous basis and able to do overhead work for long durations.
+ Health compatible for jobsite conditions including mobilizing in trenches and in sandy conditions.
+ Able to work in 90+ degree heat daily.
+ Being comfortable when working in confined spaces or at great heights.
