We are currently seeking a Mill Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position with our Atlantic Operations based at our Touquoy mine in Middle Musquodoboit. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, the Mill Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for effectively leading a multiple trades or a specialist team to ensure that equipment is maintained according to OEM specifications and available for production purposes.

The Opportunity

Ensuring and monitoring safety in the workplace by identifying and addressing hazards, participating in improving safety and ensuring all reporting requirements are completed.
Leading by example and promote a culture of safety and environmental protection in the workplace
Following HSEQ policies and procedures.
Promoting and fostering company goals and objectives with all maintenance activities.
Ensuring safe and efficient maintenance activities on a range of equipment and machinery.
Effectively leading a mixed trades or specialist team (millwrights, welders, apprentices) and working with diverse personalities covering the mine itself, the associated processing mill, and related conveyor systems.
Inspecting and maintaining equipment for proper performance and safety compliance.
Ensuring that equipment is maintained as per OEM specifications.
Diagnosing faults and malfunctions.
Managing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and planned shutdowns.
Ensuring planned and ad hoc repairs are executed to keep all equipment running smoothly and safely.
Utilizing continuous improvement and reliability centered maintenance techniques.
Responsible for planning and organizing work, distributing tasks to the team, overseeing work progress and performance.
Advising mining and processing teams about safe and effective operation of equipment.
Performing other duties as assigned including scoping of jobs.
Building teams, motivating individuals and solving problems to achieve results.
Working with Senior Managers, Superintendents, Planners and other Supervisors to promote and achieve the overall objectives of the mine.
Communicating well with senior management, other supervisors, and the team.
Developing employees by providing advice, training, encouragement and support.
Ensuring that workers are well-trained and have the skills and knowledge they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.
Working with trade union(s) where required and HR department to avoid and resolve personnel issues and grievances.
Contributing to an effective team/crew.
Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements; and taking appropriate professional development actions.

Ability to pass a background check.
Current unencumbered Class 5 Driver s Licence.
Be a visible and hands on leader.
Qualified Red seal Millwright/Mechanic.
At least 5 years relevant fixed plant maintenance experience.
Understanding and modifying schematics and drawings as deem relevant.
Familiar with hydraulic circuits and schematics.
Familiar with conveyor and crusher equipment repair and maintenance.
Familiar with grinding circuit maintenance and repair.
Comfortable with CMMS systems.
Creating requisitions and work orders.
Involved in spare parts identification.
Able to work overtime and longer hours than required especially during planned and unplanned shutdowns.
