The position requires a skilled system/concept engineer with deep expertise in power systems, digital control system design and system modeling, mixed signal IC architecture, programmable cores and subsystems, firmware architecture, and power systems validation capable of managing a team providing system/concept engineering support to multiple interdisciplinary development teams delivering power management, audio, motor control, and other advanced electronic systems solutions into demanding consumer, computing, datacom, telecom markets. In your new role you will: Recruit manage, direct, and evaluate a team of staff engineers Coordinate with Infineon/PSS/DCDC/RD management and executive team on executing organizational objectives Provide direct and indirect technical support to the R&D team and assigned projects in development of power management solutions Evaluate system specifications and functional requirements Draft component and sub-block specification Model relevant systems and subblocks Additional responsibilities include: System definition, prototyping, and proof of concept Architecture definition of cores and subsystems Firmware architecture and functional definition Design verification and validation platforms for power management systems Execute on patent and IP topics You are a proactive and motivated individual with excellent communication skills. You have strong leadership skills and enjoy teaming with others within a large, global organization. You are best equipped for this task if you have: MSEE or PhD in Electrical Engineering 12+ years experience in power system and controller architecture and mixed-signal IC development Expertise in power systems and controller architecture: DC-DC conversion, mixed signal IC development, digital signal processing and control, digital design flow and methodology, requirements driven development flow, power systems validation Experience with analog, digital, physical modeling tools, systems/analytical tools, firmware and software development tools including: MATLAB/Simulink, Behavioral Modeling (C/System C, Verilog/VHDL), C++/Python, circuit simulation (SPICE, Simetrix/Simplis, N95), FPGA and power system prototyping Proven track record in technical documentation, publications, patents Ability to recruit and develop a concept engineering team consisting of new graduates to experienced system engineers to support concurrent projects staffed with multi-site, multidisciplinary product development team consisting of project managers, technical marketing, applications engineering, analog and digital circuit design, software and firmware development, design verification and validation, test engineering, product engineering, and quality management Infineon Power & Sensor Systems (PSS) semiconductors play a vital role in enabling intelligent power management, smart sensitivity as well as fast and reliable data processing in an increasingly digitalized world.
