Position Summary

Business Profile:

Wyman-Gordon: Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all of the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed-die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land-based gas turbines. Wyman-Gordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe, nuclear, petrochemical, power generation, and space applications.

Location Profile:

Located in Rialto, California, American Handforge specializes in forging Titanium, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and exotic alloys serving multiple markets including aerospace, defense, industrial, electronic, semiconductor, and nuclear industries.

Position Summary:

Working with minimal assistance, level two heat treat operators perform intermediate heat treat tasks such as pull and verifying DPS/AMS docs, perform equipment set up including furnace burn out, leak test, OPM, loading required recipe, and perform basic equipment maintenance. Which includes inspecting thermocouples, verifying certs, and producing required graphs for quality, demonstrating intermediate knowledge of materials and heat treat processes. Certification required. Typically, 2-3 Years of Experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

* Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
* Possesses basic understanding of controlling and monitoring all heat treat furnaces as well as their limits and capabilities.
* Prepares furnace loads, dependent upon material type and quantity allowable in furnace.
* Verifies piece count and straightness and flatness of parts before and after material is heat treated.
* Conducts hardness inspection of material.
* Oversees furnace light up and monitoring.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Experience & Education

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Forklift certification
