You re an analytical problem-solver who can create useful and unique solutions in challenging situations. You excel in effective and positive communications, and you continuously bring enthusiasm to workplace tasks. You are highly motivated, focused, and always have an amazing "chemis-tree" with your peers.
As the Environmental Engineer Co-op, you will be working on saving the world (literally) and will be based at our Prince George Pulp Mill. During this eight-month Co-op position, you will be responsible for one or more projects during a particular work term. Your daily activities will see you performing data and statistical analysis, compliance tests for water effluent and air emissions, assisting in the development of the mill's waste minimization program and assisting with the development of optimization programs for effluent treatment systems and other pollution control systems. Helping to minimize waste isn't an easy task, it's "emission" and you re the best person for the job!
Our goal is to provide you with an opportunity to become familiar with the Kraft pulp process and to utilize the theoretical knowledge of environmental engineering principles in a work situation. You will work independently and as a team member with the opportunity for input from a variety of resources and will gain practical experience in various aspects of Environmental Engineering from a leading global supplier of pulp and paper products.
In a perfect world, you have a minimum of two years completed in a Co-Op program, either in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field. You also have polished PC and presentation skills and have basic laboratory knowledge. Previous industrial experience will really spotlight your application but isn t needed to apply.
