CONTROLLER:

EDISON, NJ

This hands-on position directs the financial activities of our Manufacturing organization (for two divisions - Metal Textiles and AFP Transformers Corporations) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Aid with establishing annual budget (Business Plan) For both Divisions
• Analyzed and revise annual budget as required via preparing Proforma
• Aid with communicating and controlling annual budget to all levels of management
• Develop and revise cost structure by performing annual standard roll to each business
• Manage both financial and non-financial data and information based on managements need
• Prepare, analyze and interpret financial results via the Income Statement, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet for each business
• Prepare and file external reports as required to satisfy regulatory bodies, corporate headquarters, and external auditors.
• Design, establish and maintain general accounting systems to properly record all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP accounting principles
• Design adequate internal control to provide essential information needed by management to properly plan and control the business.
• Supervise the Accounting Manager to execute timely month end close for both companies.
• Aid the President in performing due diligence as needed to any potential acquisition targets
• Aid the management team in preparing and presenting Capital Projects to UCC Corporate for approval
• Directly manages two subordinates; an Accounting Manager, who supervises a total of three employees in the Accounting Department and the Director of IT.
• Aid in managing financial budget of sister plant in Tijuana, Mexico
• Aid in managing financial budget of satellite sales office in France
• Occasional business travel
• Aid the Accounting Manager and Director of IT with the following items:
• Interviewing
• Hiring
• Training Employees
• Planning and Assigning Work
• Appraising Performance / Rewarding
• Disciplining Employees

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors in Accounting preferred
• 5 to 10 five years related experience as a Controller in the manufacturing industry
• 5 years working knowledge of JD Edwards preferred
• CPA or CMA strongly desirable
• Public Accounting Experience desirable

SKILLS:

• Ability to prepare Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements
• 5 years or more knowledge of JD Edwards
• Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Ability to analyze financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements)
• and draw conclusions
• Working Knowledge of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles)
• The ability to present financial data to parent company UCC and executive team
• General knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Exchange)
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts
• Very Hands-On
